Glory to Him who carried His slave in one night from the Holy Mosque to the Distant. Mosque which We have blessed all round to show him Our signs. Surely He is All Hearing All Seeing.

Holy is He Who carried His bondman by night from the sacred mosque to the Aqsa Mosque around which We have put blessings that We might show him Our grand signs. No doubt, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.

Purity is to Him Who took His bondman in a part of the night from the Sacred Mosque to the Aqsa Mosque around which We have placed blessings, in order that We may show him Our great signs; indeed he is the listener, the beholder. (This verse refers to the physical journey of Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him - to Al Aqsa Mosque and from there to the heavens and beyond. The entire journey back to Mecca was completed within a small part of the night.)

So when the time for the first came. We sent against you Our slaves, heavy fighters, they entered the innermost part of the cities to reach you, and it was a promise to be fulfilled.

Then when the promise of first time came to them, We sent against you Our bondmen as the strong warriors, then they entered into the cities for your search, and it was a promise to be fulfilled.
