They ask you O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) concerning the war booty; say, “Allah and the Noble Messenger are the owners of the war booty; so fear Allah and maintain friendship among yourselves; and obey Allah and His Noble Messenger, if you have faith."

اے محبوب! تم سے غنیمتوں کو پوچھتے ہیں تم فرماؤ غنیمتوں کے مالک اللہ اور رسول ہیں تو اللہ ڈرو اور اپنے آ پس میں میل (صلح صفائی) رکھو اور اللہ اور رسول کا حکم مانو اگر ایمان رکھتے ہو،

Only they are the believers whose hearts fear when Allah is remembered, and their faith advances when His verses are recited to them, and who trust only in their Lord.

ایمان والے وہی ہیں کہ جب اللہ یاد کیا جائے ان کے دل ڈر جائیں اور جب ان پر اس کی آیتیں پڑھی جائیں ان کا ایمان ترقی پائے اور اپنے رب ہی پر بھروسہ کریں

Those who keep the prayer established and spend in Our cause from what We have bestowed upon them.

وہ جو نماز قائم رکھیں اور ہمارے دیے سے کچھ ہماری راہ میں خرچ کریں،

These are the true Muslims; for them are ranks before their Lord, and forgiveness and an honourable sustenance.

یہی سچے مسلمان ہیں، ان کے لیے درجے ہیں ان کے رب کے پاس اور بخشش ہے اور عزت کی روزی

The way your Lord caused you, O dear Prophet to come forth from your home with the truth; and indeed a group of Muslims were unhappy about it.

جس طرح اے محبوب! تمہیں تمہارے رب نے تمہارے گھر سے حق کے ساتھ برآمد کیا اور بیشک مسلمانوں کا ایک گروہ اس پر ناخوش تھا

Disputing with you regarding the truth after it had been made clear, as if they were being herded towards a visible death.

سچی بات میں تم سے جھگڑتے تھے بعد اس کے کہ ظاہر ہوچکی گویا وہ آنکھوں دیکھی موت کی طرف ہانکے جاتے ہیں

And remember when Allah promised you that one of the two groups (of enemies) is for you, and you wished to get the one that posed no danger, and Allah willed to prove the truth with His Words, and to cut the origins of the disbelievers.

اور یاد کرو جب اللہ نے تمہیں وعدہ دیا تھا کہ ان دونوں گروہوں میں ایک تمہارے لیے ہے اور تم یہ چاہتے تھے کہ تمہیں وہ ملے جس میں کانٹے کا کھٹکا نہیں (کوئی نقصان نہ ہو) اور اللہ یہ چاہتا تھا کہ اپنے کلام سے سچ کو سچ کر دکھائے اور کافروں کی جڑ کا ٹ دے

In order that He may prove the truth and disprove falsehood, even if the criminals get annoyed.

کہ سچ کو سچ کرے اور جھوٹ کو جھوٹا پڑے برا مانیں مجرم،

When you (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) were seeking the help of your Lord, so He answered your prayers that, “I will help you with a row of thousands of angels.”

جب تم اپنے رب سے فریا د کرتے تھے تو اس نے تمہاری سن لی کہ میں تمہیں مدد دینے والا ہوں ہزاروں فرشتوں کی قطار سے

And Allah did this just for your happiness and for your hearts to gain contentment; and help does not come except from Allah; indeed Allah is Almighty, Wise.

اور یہ تو اللہ نے کیا مگر تمہاری خوشی کو اور اس لیے کہ تمہارے دل چین پائیں، اور مدد نہیں مگر اللہ کی طرف سے بیشک اللہ غالب حکمت والا ہے،

When He made the slumber overcome you, so it was as a peacefulness from Him, and sent down water from the sky upon you to purify you with it, and to remove the impurity of Satan from you, and to give your hearts fortitude and firmly establish your feet with it.

جب اس نے تمہیں اونگھ سے گھیر دیا تو اس کی طرف سے چین (تسکین) تھی اور آسمان سے تم پر پانی اتارا کہ تمہیں اس سے ستھرا کردے اور شیطان کی ناپاکی تم سے دور فرمادے اور تمہارے دلو ں کی ڈھارس بندھائے اور اس سے تمہارے قدم جمادے

And when O dear Prophet, your Lord was inspiring the angels that, “I am with you – so make the believers stand firm; I will soon instil fear into the hearts of the disbelievers, so strike above the disbelievers’ necks and hit their each and every bone joint.”

جب اے محبوب! تمہارا رب فرشتوں کو وحی بھیجتا تھا کہ میں تمہارے ساتھ ہوں تم مسلمانوں کو ثابت رکھو عنقریب میں کافروں کے دلوں میں ہیبت ڈالوں گا تو کافروں کی گردنوں سے اوپر مارو اور ان کی ایک ایک پور (جوڑ) پر ضرب لگا ؤ

This is because they opposed Allah and His Noble Messenger; and whoever opposes Allah and His Noble Messenger – then indeed Allah’s punishment is severe.

یہ اس لیے کہ انہوں نے اللہ اور اس کے رسول سے مخا لفت کی اور جو اللہ اور اس کے رسول سے مخالفت کرے تو بیشک اللہ کا عذاب سخت ہے،

Therefore taste this for now, and along with it for the disbelievers is the punishment of fire.

یہ تو چکھو اور اس کے ساتھ یہ ہے کہ کافروں کو آ گ کا عذاب ہے

O People who Believe! When you confront a large army of disbelievers in battle, do not turn your backs to them.

اے ایمان والو! جب کافروں کے لام (لشکر) سے تمہارا مقابلہ ہو تو انہیں پیٹھ نہ دو

And on that day whoever turns his back to them, except for a battle strategy or to join one’s own company, has then turned towards Allah’s wrath, and his destination is hell; and what an evil place of return!

اور جو اس دن انہیں پیٹھ دے گا مگر لڑائی کا ہنرَ کرنے یا اپنی جماعت میں جاملنے کو، تو وہ اللہ کے غضب میں پلٹا اور اس کا ٹھکانا دوزخ ہے، اور کیا بری جگہ ہے پلٹنے کی،

So you did not slay them, but in fact Allah slew them; and O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) you did not throw (the sand) when you did throw, but in fact Allah threw; and in order to bestow an excellent reward upon the Muslims; indeed Allah is the All Hearing, the All Knowing.

تو تم نے انہیں قتل نہ کیا بلکہ اللہ نے انہیں قتل کیا، اور اے محبوب! وہ خاک جو تم نے پھینکی تھی بلکہ اللہ نے پھینکی اور اس لیے کہ مسلمانوں کو اس سے اچھا انعام عطا فرمائے، بیشک اللہ سنتا جانتا ہے،

Therefore take this, and (know that) Allah will weaken the scheme of the disbelievers.

یہ تو لو اور اس کے ساتھ یہ ہے کہ اللہ کافروں کا داؤ سست کرنے والا ہے،

O disbelievers! If you seek a judgement, then this judgement has come to you; and if you desist, it is better for you; and if you return to mischief, We will punish you again; and your populace will not benefit you, however large it may be – and besides this, Allah is with the Muslims.

اے کافرو! اگر تم فیصلہ مانگتے ہو تو یہ فیصلہ تم پر آچکا اور اگر با ز ا ٓ ؤ تو تمہارا بھلا ہے اور اگر تم پھر شرارت کرو تو ہم پھر نہ دیں گے اور تمہارا جتھا تمہیں کچھ کام نہ دے گا چاہے کتنا ہی بہت ہو اور اس کے ساتھ یہ ہے کہ اللہ مسلمانوں کے ساتھ ہے،

O People who Believe! Obey Allah and His Noble Messenger, and do not turn away from him after you have heard him speak.

اے ایمان والو! اللہ اور اس کے رسول کا حکم مانو اور سن سنا کہ اسے نہ پھرو،

And do not be like those who said, “We have heard”, whereas they do not hear.

اور ان جیسے نہ ہونا جنہوں نے کہا ہم نے سنا او ر وہ نہیں سنتے

Indeed the worst beasts in the sight of Allah are those (people) who are deaf, dumb – who do not have any sense.

بیشک سب جانوروں میں بدتر اللہ کے نزدیک وہ ہیں جو بہرے گونگے ہیں جن کو عقل نہیں

And had Allah found any goodness in them, He would have made them hear; and had He made them hear they would, in the end, have turned away and gone back.

اور اگر اللہ ان میں کچھ بھلائی جانتا تو انہیں سنادیتا اور اگر سنا دیتا جب بھی انجام کا ر منہ پھیر کر پلٹ جاتے

O People who Believe! Present yourselves upon the command of Allah and His Noble Messenger, when the Noble Messenger calls you towards the matter that will bestow you life; and know that the command of Allah becomes a barrier between a man and his heart’s intentions, and that you will all be raised towards Him.

اے ایمان والو! اللہ اور اس کے رسول کے بلانے پر حاضر ہو جب رسول تمہیں اس چیز کے لیے بلائیں جو تمہیں زندگی بخشے گی اور جان لو کہ اللہ کا حکم آدمی اور اس کے دلی ارادوں میں حائل ہوجا تا ہے اور یہ کہ تمہیں اس کی طرف اٹھنا ہے،

And fear the turmoil which will certainly not fall only upon a few selected unjust people among you; and know that Allah’s punishment is severe.

اور اس فتنہ سے ڈرتے رہو جو ہرگز تم میں خاص ظالموں کو ہی نہ پہنچے گا اور جان لو کہ اللہ کا عذاب سخت ہے،

And remember when you were only a few and meek in the land, and feared that men may snatch you away – He therefore gave you refuge and strengthened you with His help, and gave you good things as sustenance, so that you may be thankful.

اور یاد کرو جب تم تھوڑے تھے ملک میں دبے ہوئے ڈرتے تھے کہ کہیں لوگ تمہیں اچک نہ لے جائیں تو اس نے تمہیں جگہ دی اور اپنی مدد سے زور دیا اور ستھری چیزیں تمہیں روزی دیں کہ کہیں تم احسان مانو،

O People who Believe! Do not betray Allah and His Noble Messenger, nor purposely defraud your trusts.

اے ایمان والو! اللہ اور رسول سے دغا نہ کرو اور نہ اپنی امانتوں میں دانستہ خیانت،

And know that your wealth and your children are a test, and that with Allah is an immense reward.

اور جان رکھو کہ تمہارے مال اور تمہاری اولاد سب فتنہ ہے اور اللہ کے پاس بڑا ثواب ہے

O People who Believe! If you fear Allah, He will bestow upon you (the criterion) that with which you will separate the truth from falsehood, and He will unburden your misdeeds and forgive you; and Allah is the Extremely Munificent.

اے ایمان والو! اگر اللہ سے ڈرو گے تو تمہیں وہ دیگا جس سے حق کو باطل سے جدا کرلو اور تمہاری برائیاں اتار دے گا اور تمہیں بخش دے گا اور اللہ بڑے فضل والا ہے،

And remember O dear Prophet when the disbelievers were scheming against you to either imprison you, or to kill you or to banish you; and they were scheming, and Allah was making His secret plan; and Allah’s secret plan is the best.

اور اے محبوب یاد کرو جب کافر تمہارے ساتھ مکر کرتے تھے کہ تمہیں بند کرلیں یا شہید کردیں یا نکا ل دیں اپنا سا مکر کرتے تھے اور اللہ اپنی خفیہ تدبیر فرماتا تھا اور اللہ کی خفیہ تدبیر سب سے بہتر،

And when Our verses are recited to them they say, “Yes, we have heard – if we wanted we could also say something like this – these are nothing but stories of former people!”

اور جب ان پر ہماری آیتیں پڑھی جائیں تو کہتے ہیں ہاں ہم نے سنا ہم چاہتے تو ایسی ہم بھی کہہ دیتے یہ تو نہیں مگر اگلوں کے قصے

And when they said, “O Allah! If this (the Qur’an) is really the truth from You, then shower upon us a rain of stones from the sky, or bring upon us some painful punishment.”

اور جب بولے کہ اے اللہ اگر یہی (قرآن) تیری طرف سے حق ہے تو ہم پر آسمان سے پتھر برسا یا کوئی دردناک عذاب ہم پر لا،

And it is not for Allah to punish them while you O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) are amongst them; and Allah will not punish them as long as they are seeking forgiveness. (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him – is a mercy unto mankind.)

اور اللہ کا کام نہیں کہ انہیں عذاب کرے جب تک اے محبوب! تم ان میں تشریف فرما ہو اور اللہ انہیں عذاب کرنے والا نہیں جب تک وہ بخشش مانگ رہے ہیں

And what is with them that Allah should not punish them, whereas in fact they prevent from the Sacred Mosque and they are not worthy (of being the custodians) of it; only the pious are its befitting custodians, but most of them do not have knowledge.

اور انہیں کیا ہے کہ اللہ انہیں عذاب نہ کرے وہ تو مسجد حرام سے روک رہے ہیں اور وہ اس کے اہل نہیں اس کے اولیاء تو پرہیزگار ہی ہیں مگر ان میں اکثر کو علم نہیں،

And their prayer near the Kaa’bah is nothing except whistling and clapping; “So now taste the punishment – the result of your disbelief.”

اور کعبہ کے پاس ان کی نماز نہیں مگر سیٹی اور تالی تو اب عذاب چکھو بدلہ اپنے کفر کا،

Indeed the disbelievers spend their wealth in order to prevent people from the way of Allah; so they will spend it now, and then regret over it, then they will be defeated; and the disbelievers will be gathered towards hell.

بیشک کافر اپنے مال خرچ کرتے ہیں کہ اللہ کی راہ سے روکیں تو اب انہیں خرچ کریں گے پھر وہ ان پر پچھتاوا ہوں گے پھر مغلوب کردیے جائیں گے اور کافروں کا حشر جہنم کی طرف ہوگا،

In order that Allah may separate the filthy from the pure, and placing the filthy atop one another, make a heap and throw them into hell; it is they who are the losers.

اس لیے کہ اللہ گندے کو ستھرے سے جدا فرمادے اور نجاستوں کو تلے اوپر رکھ کر سب ایک ڈھیر بناکر جہنم میں ڈال دے وہی نقصان پانے والے ہیں

Say to the disbelievers that if they desist, what has passed will be forgiven to them; and if they do the same, the tradition of former people has already passed.

تم کافروں سے فرماؤ اگر وہ باز رہے تو جو ہو گزرا وہ انہیں معاف فرمادیا جائے گا اور اگر پھر وہی کریں تو اگلوں کا دستور گزر چکا ہے

And fight them until no mischief remains and the entire religion is only for Allah; then if they desist, Allah sees all what they do.

اور اگر ان سے لڑو یہاں تک کہ کوئی فساد باقی نہ رہے اور سارا دین اللہ ہی کا ہوجائے، اگر پھر وہ باز رہیں تو اللہ ان کے کام دیکھ رہا ہے،

And if they turn away, then know that Allah is your Master; so what an Excellent Master and what an Excellent Supporter!

اور اگر وہ پھریں تو جان لو کہ اللہ تمہارا مولیٰ ہے تو کیا ہی اچھا مولیٰ اور کیا ہی اچھا مددگار،

And know that whatever you take as war booty, a fifth of that belongs to Allah and His Noble Messenger, and to relatives, and orphans, and the needy, and the traveller – if you have accepted faith in Allah and what We sent down to Our bondman on the decisive day – the day when two armies had met; and Allah is Able to do all things.

اور جان لو کہ جو کچھ غنیمت لو تو اس کا پانچواں حصہ خاص اللہ اور رسول و قرابت داروں اور یتیموں اور محتاجوں اور مسافروں کا ہے اگر تم ایمان لائے ہو اللہ پر اور اس پر جو ہم نے اپنے بندے پر فیصلہ کے دن اتارا جس دن دونوں فوجیں ملیں تھیں اور اللہ سب کچھ کرسکتا ہے،

When you were on the near bank and the disbelievers on the far bank, and the caravan below you; and had you made an agreement between one another, you would have failed to reach on the appointed time – but this is in order that Allah may complete a thing that must be done – that he who dies may die by a clear proof and he who lives may live by a clear proof; and indeed Allah is surely, All Hearing, All Knowing.

جب تم نالے کے کنا رے تھے اور کافر پرلے کنا رے اور قا فلہ تم سے ترائی میں اور اگر تم آپس میں کوئی وعدہ کرتے تو ضرور وقت پر برابر نہ پہنچتے لیکن یہ اس لیے کہ اللہ پورا کرے جو کام ہونا ہے کہ جو ہلاک ہو دلیل سے ہلاک ہو اور جو جئے دلیل سے جئے اور بیشک اللہ ضرور سنتا جانتا ہے،

When O dear Prophet, Allah used to show the disbelievers in your dream as only a few*; and O Muslims, had He shown them to you as many, you would have certainly lost courage and disputed over the affair, but Allah rescued (you); indeed He knows what lies within the hearts. (* They numbered more but their actual strength was equal to only a few.)

جب کہ اے محبوب! اللہ ٹمہیں کافروں کو تمہاری خواب میں تھو ڑا دکھاتا تھا اور اے مسلمانو! اگر وہ تمہیں بہت کرکے دکھاتا تو ضرور تم بزدلی کرتے اور معاملہ میں جھگڑا ڈالتے مگر اللہ نے بچا لیا بیشک وہ دلوں کی بات جانتا ہے،

And when at the time of fighting He made the disbelievers seem few to you, and you as few in their sight, in order for Allah to conclude the matter that must be done; and towards Allah is the return of all matters.

او ر جب لڑتے وقت تمہیں کا فر تھو ڑے کرکے دکھائے اور تمہیں ان کی نگاہوں میں تھو ڑا کیا کہ اللہ پو را کرے جو کام ہونا ہے اور اللہ کی طرف سب کاموں کی رجوع ہے،

O People who Believe! When you meet an army, hold firm and remember Allah profusely, in order that you succeed.

اے ایمان والو! جب کسی فوج سے تمہارا مقابلہ ہو تو ثابت قدم رہو اور اللہ کی یاد بہت کرو کہ تم مراد کو پہنچو،

And obey Allah and His Noble Messenger, and do not dispute with one another for you will lose courage again and your strength will be lost, and patiently endure; indeed Allah is with those who patiently endure.

اور اللہ اور اس کے رسول کا حکم مانو اور آپس میں جھگڑ و نہیں کہ پھر بز د لی کرو گے اور تمہاری بندھی ہوئی ہوا جاتی رہے گی اور صبر کرو، بیشک اللہ صبر والوں کے ساتھ ہے

And do not be like those who came out from their houses proudly, and to be seen by men, and they prevent people from Allah’s way; and all their actions are within Allah’s control.

اور ان جیسے نہ ہوتا جو اپنے گھر سے نکلے اتراتے اور لوگوں کے دکھانے کو اور اللہ کی راہ سے روکتے اور ان کے سب کام اللہ کے قابو میں ہیں،

And when Satan made their deeds seem good in their sight and said, “This day no one can overpower you, and you are under my protection”; so when the two armies came face to face, he scrambled back and said, “I am unconcerned with you – I can see what is not visible to you – I fear Allah”; and Allah’s punishment is severe.

اور جبکہ شیطان نے ان کی نگاہ میں ان کے کام بھلے کر دکھائے اور بولا آج تم پر کوئی شخص غالب آنے والا نہیں اور تم میری پناہ میں ہو تو جب دونوں لشکر آمنے سامنے ہوئے الٹے پاؤں بھاگا اور بولا میں تم سے الگ ہوں میں وہ دیکھتا ہوں جو تمہیں نظر نہیں آتا میں اللہ سے ڈرتا ہوں اور اللہ کا عذاب سخت ہے،

When the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease were saying, “These Muslims are proud of their religion”; and whoever trusts Allah, then indeed Allah is Almighty, Wise.

جب کہتے تھے منافق اور وہ جن کے دلوں میں ا ٓزا ر ہے کہ یہ مسلمان اپنے دین پر مغرور ہیں اور جو اللہ پر بھروسہ کرے تو بیشک اللہ غالب حکمت والا ہے،

And if you see the angels when they are removing the souls of the disbelievers, hitting them on their faces and their backs; “Taste more of the punishment of the fire!” (Punishment in the grave is proven by this verse.)

اور کبھی تو دیکھے جب فرشتے کافروں کی جان نکالتے ہیں مار رہے ہیں ان کے منہ پر او ر ان کی پیٹھ پر اور چکھو آ گ کا عذاب،

“This is the recompense of what your own hands have sent ahead, and Allah does not oppress His bondmen.”

یہ بدلہ ہے اس کا جو تمہارے ہاتھوں نے آگے بھیجا اور اللہ بندوں پر ظلم نہیں کرتا

Like the ways of Firaun’s people, and those before them; they disbelieved in the signs of Allah – therefore Allah seized them on account of their sins; indeed Allah is Most Powerful, Severe in Punishing.

جیسے فرعون والوں اور ان سے اگلوں کا دستور وہ اللہ کی آیتوں کے منکر ہوئے تو اللہ نے انہیں ان کے گناہوں پر پکڑا بیشک اللہ قوت والا سخت عذاب و ا لا ہے،

This is because Allah does not change the favour He has bestowed upon any people until they first change themselves, and indeed Allah is All Hearing, All Knowing.

یہ اس لیے کہ اللہ کسی قوم سے جو نعمت انہیں دی تھی بدلتا نہیں جب تک وہ خود نہ بدل جائیں اور بیشک اللہ سنتا جانتا ہے

Like the ways of Firaun’s people and those before them; they denied the signs of Allah – We therefore destroyed them on account of their sins and We drowned the people of Firaun; and they all were unjust.

جیسے فرعون والوں اور ان سے اگلوں کا دستور، انہوں نے اپنے رب کی آیتیں جھٹلائیں تو ہم نے ان کو ان کے گناہوں کے سبب ہلاک کیا اور ہم نے فرعون والوں کو ڈبو دیا اور وہ سب ظالم تھے،

Indeed the worst beasts in the sight of Allah are the people who disbelieve and do not accept faith.

بیشک سب جانوروں (کا فر و ں) میں بدتر اللہ کے نزدیک وہ ہیں جنہوں نے کفر کیا اور ایمان نہیں لاتے،

Those with whom you made a treaty, then they break their agreement each time and do not fear.

وہ جن سے تم نے معاہدہ کیا تھا پھر ہر با ر اپنا عہد توڑ دیتے ہیں اور ڈرتے نہیں

So if you find them in battle, kill them in a manner which makes those behind them scamper back, in the hope that they may learn a lesson.

تو اگر تم انہیں کہیں لڑائی میں پا ؤ تو انہیں ایسا قتل کرو جس سے ان کے پس ماندوں کو بھگاؤ اس امید پر کہ شاید انہیں عبرت ہو

And if you apprehend treachery from a nation, then throw back their treaty towards them in reciprocity; indeed Allah does not like the treacherous.

اور اگر تم کسی قوم سے دغا کا اندیشہ کرو تو ان کا عہد ان کی طرف پھینک دو برابری پر بیشک دغا والے اللہ کو پسند نہیں،

And never may the disbelievers pride that they have escaped; indeed they can never defeat.

اور ہرگز کا فر اس گھمنڈ میں نہ رہیں کہ وہ ہاتھ سے نکل گئے بیشک وہ عاجز نہیں کرتے

And keep ready for them the maximum of forces you can and the maximum number of horses you can keep tethered, in order to instil awe in the hearts of those who are the enemies of Allah and who are your enemies, and in the hearts of some others whom you do not know; Allah knows them; and whatever you spend in Allah's cause will be repaid to you in full and you will never be in a loss.

اور ان کے لیے تیار رکھو جو قوت تمہیں بن پڑے اور جتنے گھوڑے باندھ سکو کہ ان سے ان کے دلوں میں دھاک بٹھاؤ جو اللہ کے دشمن ہیں اور ان کے سوا کچھ اوروں کے دلوں میں جنہیں تم نہیں جانتے اللہ انہیں جانتا ہے اور اللہ کی راہ میں جو کچھ خرچ کرو گے تمہیں پورا دیا جائے گا اور کسی طرح گھاٹے میں نہ رہو گے،

And if they incline towards peace, you too lean towards it, and trust Allah; indeed He only is the All Hearing, the All Knowing.

اور اگر وہ صلح کی طرف جھکیں تو تم بھی جھکو اور اللہ پر بھروسہ رکھو، بیشک وہی ہے سنتا جانتا،

And if they wish to deceive you, then indeed Allah is Sufficient for you; it is He Who has given you strength, with His help and with the Muslims.

اور اگر وہ تمہیں فریب دیا چاہیں تو بیشک اللہ تمہیں کافی ہے، وہی ہے جس نے تمہیں زور دیا اپنی مدد کا اور مسلمانوں کا،

And has created harmony among their hearts; if you had spent all that is in the earth you could not have created harmony among their hearts, but Allah has created harmony among them; indeed He only is Almighty, Wise.

اور ان کے دلوں میں میل کردیا اگر تم زمین میں جو کچھ ہے سب خرچ کردیتے ان کے دل نہ ملا سکتے لیکن اللہ نے ان کے دل ملادیئے، بیشک وہی ہے غالب حکمت والا،

O Herald of the Hidden! Allah is Sufficient for you and for all these Muslims who follow you.

اے غیب کی خبریں بتانے والے (نبی) اللہ تمہیں کافی ہے اور یہ جتنے مسلمان تمہارے پیرو ہوئے،

O Herald of the Hidden! Urge the believers to fight; if there are twenty persevering men among you, they shall overcome two hundred; and if there are a hundred among you, they shall overcome a thousand disbelievers because the disbelievers are a people who do not have sense.

اے غیب کی خبریں بتانے والے! مسلمانوں کو جہاد کی ترغیب دو اگر تم میں کے بیس صبر والے ہوں گے دو سو پر غالب ہوں گے اور اگر تم میں کے سو ہوں تو کافروں کے ہزا ر پر غالب آئیں گے اس لیے کہ وہ سمجھ نہیں رکھتے،

So now Allah has made an ease upon you and He knows that you are weak; so if there are a hundred persevering men among you, they shall overcome two hundred; and if there are a thousand among you, they shall overcome two thousand by the command of Allah; and Allah is with those who patiently endure.

اب اللہ نے تم پر سے تخفیف فرمائی اور اسے علم کہ تم کمزو ر ہو تو اگر تم میں سو صبر والے ہوں د و سو پر غالب آئیں گے اور اگر تم میں کے ہزار ہوں تو دو ہزار پر غالب ہوں گے اللہ کے حکم سے اور اللہ صبر والوں کے ساتھ ہے،

It does not befit any Prophet to capture the disbelievers alive until he has profusely shed their blood in the land; you people desire the wealth of this world; and Allah wills the Hereafter, and Allah is Almighty, Wise.

کسی نبی کو لائئق نہیں کہ کافروں کو زندہ قید کرلے جب تک زمین میں ان کا خون خوب نہ بہائے تم لوگ دنیا کا مال چا ہتے ہو او ر اللہ آخرت چاہتا ہے اور اللہ غالب حکمت والا ہے

Had Allah not pre-destined a matter then, O Muslims, a terrible punishment would have come upon you due to the ransom you took from the disbelievers.

اگراللہ پہلے ایک بات لکھ نہ چکا ہوتا تو اے مسلمانو! تم نے جو کافروں سے بدلے کا مال لے لیا اس میں تم پر بڑا عذاب آتا،

Therefore benefit from the booty you have received, lawful and good; and keep fearing Allah; indeed Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.

تو کھاؤ جو غنیمت تمہیں ملی حلال پاکیزہ اور اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو بیشک اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے،

O Herald of the Hidden! Say to the captives whom you possess, “If Allah finds any goodness in your hearts, He will give you better than what has been taken from you, and will forgive you; and Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

اے غیب کی خبریں بتانے والے جو قیدی تمہارے ہاتھ میں ہیں ان سے فرماؤ اگر اللہ نے تمہارے دل میں بھلائی جانی تو جو تم سے لیا گیا اس سے بہتر تمہیں عطا فرمائے گا اور تمہیں بخش دے گا اور اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے

And if they wish to deceive you, they have already been disloyal to Allah, because of which He has given these disbelievers in your control; and Allah is All Knowing, Wise.

اور اے محبوب اگر وہ تم سے دغا چاہیں گے تو اس سے پہلے اللہ ہی کی خیانت کرچکے ہیں جس پر اس نے اتنے تمہارے قابو میں دے دیے اور اللہ جاننے والا حکمت والا ہے،

Indeed those who accepted faith and left their homes and belongings for Allah, and fought with their wealth and their lives in Allah's cause, and those who gave shelter and provided help, are the heirs of one another; and those who believed but did not leave their homes – you have no right in their estates until they migrate; and if they seek help from you in the matter of religion then it is your duty to provide help, except against the people between whom and you is a treaty; and Allah sees your deeds.

بیشک جو ایمان لائے اور اللہ کے لیے گھر بار چھوڑے اور اللہ کی راہ میں اپنے مالوں اور جانوں سے لڑے اور وہ جنہوں نے جگہ دی اور مدد کی وہ ایک دوسرے کے وارث ہیں اور وہ جو ایمان لائے اور ہجرت نہ کی انہیں ان کا ترکہ کچھ نہیں پہنچتا جب تک ہجرت نہ کریں اور اگر وہ دین میں تم سے مدد چاہیں تو تم پر مدد دینا واجب ہے مگر ایسی قوم پر کہ تم میں ان میں معاہدہ ہے، اور اللہ تمہارے کام دیکھ رہا ہے،

And the disbelievers are the heirs of one another – if you do not do so, there will be turmoil in the land and a great chaos.

اور کافر ا ٓ پس میں ایک دوسرے کے وارث ہیں ایسا نہ کرو گے تو زمین میں فتنہ اور بڑا فساد ہوگا

And those who believed and migrated and fought in Allah's cause, and those who gave shelter and provided help – it is they who are the true believers; for them is pardon, and an honourable sustenance.

اور وہ جو ایمان لائے اور ہجرت کی اور اللہ کی راہ میں لڑے اور جنہوں نے جگہ دی اور مدد کی وہی سچے ایمان والے ہیں، ان کے لیے بخشش ہے اور عزت کی روزی

And those who afterwards believed and migrated and fought along with you – they too are from among you; and family members (blood relations) are nearer to one another in the Book of Allah; indeed Allah knows everything.

اور جو بعد کو ایمان لائے اور ہجرت کی اور تمہارے ساتھ جہاد کیا وہ بھی تمہیں میں سے ہیں اور رشتہ والے ایک دوسرے سے زیادہ نزدیک ہیں اللہ کی کتاب میں بیشک اللہ سب کچھ جانتا ہے،
